Nativity Scene

Hello!

As I’ve been finishing up projects for people to gift this Christmas I keep catching myself taking a deep breath during the painting process, sometimes the first one I’ve taken all day. It is so steadying to slow down and swish colored water on paper and create something. Anything really, even if it doesn’t turn out how I imagined.
This week we will be painting a glowing nativity scene, complete with a galaxy background and the Christmas star. So take a steadying breath with me during this hectic season and pause for just a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

You will need:
-A half sheet of a 9×12 watercolor paper, taped to a board or other hard surface
-a quarter sheet of paper for a color meditation while we wait for drying times
-a large brush and medium brush with a small brush for details (I’ll be using round 8, 6 and 2)
White opaque paint (gouache or acrylic or even a white gel pen)
-watercolor paints, water, paper towel, etc.
I can’t wait to paint with you!
